So We Built A Worship Song Chords Website
Do you play for a church band? If yes, you may have experienced the hassle of gathering song chords before a band practice. Yes there many are worship song chords available on the internet. However some of the chords don’t sound right compared to the actual song. Also gathering them from various sources may need some effort.
Last 2012, Closely Coded undertook that problem. We built a simple worship song chords website for an Indonesian Catholic community in Singapore. The chords website can be easily managed through a CMS (content management system).
User Interface
The interface is designed to be simple and intuitive. Web visitors can choose from a list of the songs they want, or use the search provided on the top right header. The website is also equipped with a transpose tool. Musicians can use transpose tool to show the chords in a different key.
Website Traffic
This worship chords website has been running since 2012. We never did any publicity because it was meant for internal use only. However surprisingly on December 2014 month alone the website has served over 75,000 pageviews, over 38,000 sessions, and over 26,000 users.
Most visitors (84.8%) found the website from organic Google search. For most searches on Indonesian worship songs which were listed on the chords website, we appeared on page one.
Content Management System
The content management for this website is simple. Admins can add new songs simply by logging in to the admin panel. The admin panel is also mobile-friendy. So during band practice, when a musician needs to adjust the chords for everybody, he / she can instantly edit using tablet or mobile phone browser within a few seconds.
